The Labor Council employs 12 full-time field representatives to serve the members of each local unit. All field representatives are highly-trained and skilled in the profession of labor relations and act as the main point of contact between the local unit and the Police Officers Labor Council.

Rob is a veteran of both the Detroit and Warren Police Departments. He served on the DPD for eight years where he was a steward his last four years. While on the Warren PD for twelve years, Rob was elected and served as a steward and Executive Board member for a combined five years. Before leaving that department in 2009, Rob was the POA’S President his last five years. He previously attended Wayne State University where he attained a degree in Police Administration.

Ed is a retired veteran of the Grand Rapids Police Department. He has been a member of the POLC Executive Committee since 1995 and the Chairperson since 2004. He previously has served on the Finance, Membership and Grievance Review Committees. Ed also was president of his local, Grand Rapids POLC for years and served as Sec/Treas for six previous years. He has attended National seminars on Labor Relations, Police Officers rights, FMLA, FMLS, contract negotiations, grievance process as well as Police Officers involved in politics. Ed is married with two children in high school.

Served as a police officer in the Grand Rapids Police Department, was an Executive Board member, union steward and bargaining committee member for seven years.   Some of his departmental assignments included the Vice Unit and the Michigan State Police Metro Enforcement Team as a Narcotics Detector Dog Handler.  Attended Lansing Community College and many national training seminars regarding contract negotiations, collective bargaining, police power, politics and confrontation, supervision and problem solving, and police officers’ rights training.  Will received extensive “interest based bargaining” training at Wayne State University.  He is a six year veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Employed by the Labor Council since 2001, he is a retiree of the Warren Police Department and served 5 consecutive terms as Union President of the Warren Police Officers Association. Frank holds an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement from Macomb Community College and has attended additional study courses in Criminal Justice and Labor Management at Wayne State and Michigan State University. He is an NRA certified police firearms instructor and a Glock and Sigarms armorer. He has testified as an expert witness regarding weapons and ballistics and is a member of the International Wound Ballistic Association. He is also a certified PPCT instructor and Spontaneous Knife Defense Instructor. Frank is a Viet Nam Combat Veteran who enjoys hunting and scuba diving.

Chester has been a Labor Council Representative since 2004. He was a member of the Warren Police Department for 32 years and retired as a Detective. While on the Police Department, Chet was assigned to Radar and Motor Carrrier Duties, Uniform Patrol and attended Michigan State Community Policing Concepts School. Chet has also served as the Warren POA President and was responsible for processing grievances through arbitration, as well as contract negotiations up and through binding arbitration.

The senior statesmen among the Council's representatives; Homer has been a staff representative since 1980. Homer has served as a business agent for the AFL-CIO, President of an AFSCME local, Vice President of AFL-CIO Statewide Council and a labor consultant with the Michigan Association of School Boards. He is a graduate of Michigan State University BS - Science Degree in Social Studies and worked on his Masters Degree in Labor and Industrial Relations.

Ken has been a member of the POLC staff since 1995. Ken served on the Council's Executive Committee for several years as Vice-Chairperson and Chairperson, as well as, chairing the Grievance Review Committee. Past-President of an AFSCME local and his local bargaining unit until his retirement from the police department in Hazel Park. Accomplishments include School Board President, and pension trustee for the Hazel Park Police and Fire Retirement System.

A long-term veteran and member of the Romulus Police Department, where he served until his retirement in December of 2004. Throughout his career Duane served as President of the Patrol Officers Association as well as serving his last six years as President of the Command Officers Association. A welcomed member of the Labor Council staff in January 2005, Duane has an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement from Northwestern Michigan University, a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Ferris State University and a recent graduate of Eastern Michigan University Police Staff and Command School.

Veteran of City of Grosse Pointe Park Public Safety Department, retired October 1998. Throughout his career, John served in his local POA as a Steward, Secretary, Treasurer and Chief Steward. John was elected to the Executive Committee of the POLC in September of 1991 serving as Vice-Chairman for 2 years and as Chairman for the next 5 years. John joined the POLC employed as a Labor Representative in October 1998. John has a degree in police administration from Macomb College.

Michael F. Woronko

Worked for Walker Police Department and later Grand Rapids Police Department.  Retired from the Grand Rapids Police Department where he served as a union steward for ten (10) years, also as the Secretary -Treasurer of the Union.  He was on the Political Action Committee (PAC) as a board member.  While working as a police officer he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree (criminal justice).  Mike also attended and graduated from Cooley Law School with a Juris Doctor and also worked as a clerk with the United States Attorney’s Office while in law school.  He is admitted to practice as a licensed attorney in the State of Michigan.

Nancy has been with the Police Officers Labor Council for numerous years. Her primary responsibilities include the research and preparation of comparable data for contract negotiations and Act 312 arbitrations. She also serve's as an expert witness in all of the Compulsory Binding Arbitration (Act 312) hearings. Nancy has a BA - Industrial Relations, Western Michigan University and a MA - Industrial & Labor Relations, Wayne State University.
