Posted by: Jennifer Gomori Posted date: April 19, 2017

Criminal justice reform bills have been signed into law; a state income tax rollback is on hold; the Senate passes ‘good jobs’ legislation; the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) seeks followup legislation to the medical marijuana law; the ACLU filed a lawsuit and is asking the Court of Claims to declare the $2.5 million state appropriation to private schools in the School Aid budget unconstitutional; and legislation to give options to high school students interested in skilled trade jobs, computer coding and science has passed the House. These and other legislative measures are discussed in the April 2017 Karoub Report below.
