Explore the world of health and fitness in law enforcement

The National Law Enforcement Museum is offering a look into the world of health and fitness in law enforcement with a free Law Enforcement Academy Saturday, March 14. Participants are invited to see if they have what it takes to be mentally and physically prepared for the work of a law enforcement officer.

“This is an exciting opportunity for our visitors to step into the physical and mental demands of law enforcement, and it’s not as easy as it looks!” said Marcia Ferranto, National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund CEO, in a Memorial Fund press release. “We hope this Free Family Fun Day gives visitors a glimpse of an officer’s training while also providing an opportunity to take part in the many interactive and immersive exhibits the Museum has to offer.”

The Free Family Fun Day runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes a challenging P.A.T. obstacle course, based on the police Physical Agility Test. Visitors are invited to bring their mat or towel to participate in police yoga. The Museum’s Learning Center will feature an observation and memory game and recreating a crime scene out of LEGO blocks in a special detective mission.

The Museum is located at Judiciary Square in the heart of downtown Washington, DC, with a world-class collection of artifacts and over 100 interactive elements.
