The Police Officers Labor Council’s Executive Committee is the governing body of the organization. Members of the executive committee are elected by the delegate body at the annual meeting and conference held every August-September. There are nine (9) Executive Committee members. Elections for five (5) of the committee members are held during the odd numbered years, while four (4) committee members are held in the even numbered years. Only full-time employees of a member organization are eligible to hold elective office.
Steve McInchak – Flat Rock Police Department – Chairman

Steve McInchak has been with the Flat Rock Police Department since January 2021. He previously served with the Gibraltar Police Department from 2008-2021, where he retired as a Sergeant. Steve was employed with the Lincoln Park Police Department from 1995-2008. He served the Lincoln Park Police Officer Association as the Secretary, Vice President, and President. Steve was assigned to the Michigan State Police-Downriver Auto Theft Team (DRATT) from 2001-2004. Steve was assigned to the Downriver SWAT Team from 1997-2019, where he was the Team Commander from 2009-2019. Steve stays active as a NCAA -Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Referee for the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA). He previously refereed games for the Big Ten, Hockey East and the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Steve has refereed two NCAA national championship games (2015 in Boston and 2016 in Tampa). Steve is the father of two boys. Steve’s oldest son plays Division I hockey at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY). Steve’s younger son plays club hockey at Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton, FL). Steve has a degree in Applied Science – Criminal Justice from Schoolcraft College and, in 2015, graduated from Siena Heights University with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
Brian McNair – Chesterfield Township Police Department - Vice Chairman

Brian McNair has been with the POLC since 1999, serving as Hazel Park Police Officers Association Secretary; Chesterfield Police Command Officers Association Union Steward; and Chesterfield Police Officers Association President, Secretary and Vice President. A Macomb Police Academy graduate, he has a Bachelor of Leadership in Public Safety from Baker College, a Masters in Administration from Central Michigan University and graduated from Eastern Michigan University Police Staff and Command School. The Chesterfield Township Police Lieutenant oversees the daily operations of the department. He’s worked on road patrol, traffic bureau, accident investigation and reconstruction, Evidence Technician, Community Relations Officer, FTO and CTO Supervisor and directed a patrol unit. He is a Criminal Justice Adjunct Professor at Baker College and Law Enforcement Adjunct Instructor at Macomb Community College Criminal Justice Training Center. McNair is married, and in his free time, can be found at his son’s karate or daughter’s gymnastics events.
Greg Alexander – Oscoda Township Police Department

Greg Alexander helped formalize a Local Union Board for Oscoda Township Police after joining their department in 2013. The Oscoda Township Officer helped his unit, which was previously represented by a single Steward, become POLC members in 2018. Greg has served as Oscoda Township Police Local Union President for the past five years. Prior to that, he was Local Union Vice President. He began his law enforcement career in 2011 as a part-time Alcona County Corrections Officer and Alcona County Marine Patrol Deputy. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Saginaw Valley State University with a minor in Computer Applications. He handles Oscoda Township PD’s in-car camera program, Township security cameras, Etickets system, in-house server and networking issues, and the mobile data department. A certified scuba diver since 2011, Greg is on the Oscoda Township Dive Rescue Team. He also manages the maintenance and replacement of vehicles through the fleet program. In his spare time, the married father of one daughter is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.
Robert Gaiser – Caro City Police Department

Caro City Police Officer Robert Gaiser helped fill department vacancies quicker by negotiating significant improvements in their contract through the POLC. The Local Union Board President for the past four years, Robert joined the department and union in 2016. He completed Delta College Police Academy in 2016 at the age of 42, receiving an Academic Award for graduating second in his class. Prior to earning his Criminal Justice associate degree from Delta College, Robert had 17 years of Union involvement as a skilled tradesman and served as a private sector Union Representative for over a decade. He was a Bargaining Committee Representative at Eaton Manufacturing for seven years, working on contracts and grievances for Pace Union and later the Teamsters, in the full-time evening position. For four years, he was UAW Bargaining Chair at Delphi Chassis in Saginaw, leading contract negotiations. Robert was honored as 2019 Officer of the Year by the Exchange Club of Caro for his work as a Community Resource Officer, his involvement with the Shop with a Hero program, volunteering with school programs, and serving on the Tuscola Technical Center Law Enforcement Advisory Board. The married father of four enjoys hunting and fishing.
Leigh Golden – Flint Police Department

Captain Leigh Golden has been a Flint Captains and Lieutenants Association Board member since 2010, having served as Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer of the Local Union. She’s been involved in unions since joining the department in 1996, serving as 3rd Shift Local Officers Union Steward. She became a POLC member when she was promoted to Sergeant in 2002. Leigh is currently Captain of the Criminal Investigation Bureau and was Captain of the Patrol Operations Bureau, having overseen both bureaus as a Lieutenant and Sergeant. The former Captain of the Support Services Bureau supervised the Crime Analysis and Crime Area Target Team, which she was assigned to as an Officer. Leigh is President of Flint Police Benefit Association and 2nd Vice President of FOP Lodge #126. She holds an associate degree in Criminal Justice from Mott Community College. She completed the Law Enforcement Executive Leadership Institute at Central Michigan University in 2012 and Eastern Michigan University’s Staff and Command School in 2013. The mother of one son enjoys attending concerts, traveling and relaxing by the pool.
Jeff Gormley – Bloomfield Hills Public Safety Department

Jeff Gormley, who was promoted to Lieutenant in 2015, has served as the local POLC President and Lead Negotiator for Bloomfield Hills Command Unit since August 2012. Prior to that, he represented Bloomfield Hills POLC Officers from September 1998 to August 2012. He worked in the City of Mt. Pleasant as a Police Officer from July 1997 to September 1998 before joining Bloomfield Hills Public Safety Department. Gormley keeps active coaching his son’s soccer team and FIRST LEGO League, a robotic engineering team his son and daughter participate in. Gormley graduated from Lake Superior State University in 1997 with two Bachelor of Science degrees in Criminal Justice and Fire Science.
John Huizdos – Bloomfield Township Police Department

A Bloomfield Township Police Officer for the past 23 years, John Huizdos has been a POLC member since his first day on the job in 1994. He’s served the union on the local board as Secretary, Treasurer and President since 2014. He was named 2016 Bloomfield Township Officer of the Year, an honor he also received in 2005. He has worked on patrol, traffic, investigations, and the Major Case Assistance Team (MCAT), a collaborative team involving several Oakland County law enforcement agencies, from 2012 to present. He received three awards for his work in homicide investigations, one for locating the driver in a hit and run. John obtained a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Wayne State University and graduated from Macomb Police Academy. He has taken numerous law enforcement training courses. The married father of three enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, coaching his son’s baseball team and cooking in his free time.
Ryan Strunk – Battle Creek Police Department

Ryan Strunk, a Sergeant with the Battle Creek Police Department Special Investigations Unit, has been with his department 16 years. Ryan served as Chief Steward of the POLC Non-Supervisory Unit for five years prior to his promotion to Sergeant in December 2020. He served as a detective for eight years and spent over six years in Special Investigations. During his career with Battle Creek PD, he has been assigned to Road Patrol, the Gang Suppression Unit, the Special Investigations Unit, and the Detective Bureau. He also supervises BCPD’s Hostage/Crisis Negotiation Team and the BCPD Peer Support Group. Ryan earned a Criminal Justice degree at Kellogg Community College. The married father has a son and a daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys jiu-jitsu, playing softball, camping, and watching sports.
Troy Taylor – Oak Park Department of Public Safety

Troy Taylor has been a member of the POLC since 2002 and is the current President of the Oak Park Public Safety Command Association. He has been employed by the Oak Park Department of Public Safety since 1999 and is currently a Lieutenant in command of the Investigations Bureau. Troy has been or is a Special Response Team Commander, Field Training Commander, Firearms/Tactics Instructor and is currently the Team Commander for the OakTac Mobile Field Force, which covers all of Oakland County. Troy is a graduate of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science, and the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, Class #285. He also played Ice Hockey for U of M-Dearborn and was a two-time All-American. Troy is married with three wonderful children and in his limited free time can be found coaching hockey, cheering on his kids at their numerous sporting events or riding his dirt bike.
