Save the date for this year’s POLC/GELC Annual Labor Conference at a relaxing lakeside venue in scenic Traverse City and get the latest Union news in the Winter 2026 Police Officers Journal.
As the Unions continue to welcome new units, they impressed two of their new member groups in their inaugural POLC-represented collective bargaining agreements. One unit garnered 34 percent in wage increases and retirement contributions, while another experienced up to 38 percent in pay hikes with the assistance of their new representation. But you don’t have to be newly-represented to experience double-digit percentage wage increases and other exceptional benefit enhancements, as evidenced in the Contract Settlements section of the Journal.
The Police Officers Labor Council is committed to assisting deserving police academy graduates through scholarship awards, which resulted in funding for four local recruits this winter — all of whom have been hired at law enforcement agencies in Michigan.
