Reflecting the fall season, the Fall 2023 Police Officers Journal marks some noticeable changes for the Unions. The Journal features an article about new POLC/GELC Director Jim Stachowski, who assumed the Union’s top leadership role in July. 

During the Annual POLC/GELC Conference in September, the Unions recognized the service of former Executive Committee members John Huizdos, who retired from Bloomfield Township Police Department, and Jeff Gormley, who departed when he became the Bloomfield Hills Director of Public Safety. Executive Committee Elections were held and the board elected a new Chairman and Vice-Chairman. Following the conference, two new committee members were appointed by the board to the vacancies.

Three Battle Creek Police Officers were honored with POLC Outstanding Service Awards at the conference for their quick and decisive response to an armed suicidal suspect, which saved the lives of everyone at the scene.
