House and Senate appropriations subcommittees are holding public hearings and gathering input on Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s FY 2025 state budget proposal from the subcommittee’s respective state department, local units, other interested parties, and the public. Typically, this process lasts through April. Each subcommittee will report its budget bill to its chamber’s Appropriations Committee, where the bills will go through the same legislative process.
