Republicans won control of the presidency and the U.S. Senate majority. The party majority in the U.S. House is still unknown as of 10:30 a.m. this morning, Nov. 6. Republicans also regained the Michigan House majority, bringing an end, in January 2025, to the trifecta that Democrats secured in the 2022 midterm elections.
Former President Donald Trump was declared the winner of the Presidential election with 277 electoral votes to Kamala Harris’ 224. While the battleground state of Michigan was too close to call, as of 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 6, Trump has won or is leading in all seven battleground states.
In the U.S. Senate, 34 of 100 seats were up for election. One of the most competitive races was between U.S. Representative Elissa Slotkin (D) and Mike Rogers (R). However, the Democratic majority in the Senate flips to a Republican majority, according to unofficial election results.
