It’s time to register for 2023 National Police Week events. The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) and other Police Week 2023 event organizers have opened registration for May events in Washington D.C.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15th falls, National Police Week. National Police Week pays special recognition to law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. 

While the official dates of National Police Week 2023 are May 14-20, several key events are planned days in advance. Most  national events begin on the Early Arrival date of May 11, however, the 29th Annual Blue Mass is set for May 2. In Michigan, the 27th Annual Peace Officers Memorial Service is scheduled for May 1.
