The Police Officers Labor Council honors all the courageous First Responders who risked their lives – and the many who made the ultimate sacrifice – to save victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
This devastating attack on our nation continues to impact First Responders still today. Many of these brave men and women, who survived the initial acts of terrorism, have suffered from serious illnesses due to their exposure to toxins, eventually cutting their lives short.
Each year, the names of Law Enforcement Officers who paid the ultimate price due to their rescue efforts on 9/11 are added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C. This year, the public is invited to attend the NLEOMF 9/11 Ceremony to Honor the Fallen at 4 p.m. EST on Thursday at the Memorial.
The POLC will never forget the extraordinary heroism of all 9/11 First Responders!
