Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced EMS Recognition Week, May 16-22, 2021 among several proclamations recognizing heroic frontline workers during the pandemic.

“I would like to recognize the nurses, first responders, teachers, and countless others who continue to put their lives on the line for others, protect the health of their fellow Michiganders, and effect positive change for our young people during this unpredictable year,” Whitmer stated.
