At the end of August, the Michigan House approved their version of the state budget plan that reduces funding across most state departments and agencies. The action comes well past the July 1 statutory deadline for having a budget signed into law. The House budget plan totals $54.6 billion, with $12.09 billion from the state’s General Fund.

There was no question that Bridgeport Township Employees needed a change of representation. Governmental Employees Labor Council (GELC) fit the bill perfectly.
The One Big Beautiful Bill that President Trump signed into law on July 4, included language to end de minimis treatment for all low-value commercial shipments effective July 1, 2027. While a significant victory for NAPO to stop the flow of illicit narcotics coming across our borders, we were concerned the provision would not take effect for two years.
